Star Wars Elite Series Deluxe Gift Set Die Cast 5 Pack. Disney Store Exclusive New in box unopened. In collaboration with Lucasfilm, Disney Store is proud to introduce the Star Wars Elite Series, a premium line of toys featuring iconic characters from the expansive world of Star Wars. This exclusive collection is meticulously engineered and crafted with Star Wars fans in mind. With plans to locate Luke Skywalker, the sinister First Order has emerged stronger than ever. They start by attacking a small village on the desert planet Jakku, where an old ally to the Republic has been discovered with a potential clue to Luke’s whereabouts. A league of elite Stormtroopers mercilessly strikes the village as Kylo Ren and Captain Phasma seek out the Republic ally. Engulfed in a blaze started by Flametroopers, FN-2187 stares helplessly as the villagers are trapped in the destruction and warefare unleashed by the First Order. This First Order Heavy Gunner Stormtrooper was released at Disney Stores in a 5-pack in October 2016. For this release Disney used the basic Elite Series First Order Stormtrooper, but added a non-removable plastic harness with permanently attached pouches. Besides a display stand, Disney also included a basic blaster and a heavy cannon with the figure. The heavy cannon’s stand can be unfolded and extended, and it’s base can be widened this works well! Unfortunately, the Heavy Gunner Stormtrooper is unable to hold or carry the weapon properly. The figure is able to hold the small blaster loosely in the right hand, but we were not able to attach it properly to the right thigh. The Stormtrooper reviewed here had loose ankle joints and we had a hard time displaying the figure properly despite the included display stand. Captain Phasma was released at Disney Stores in a 5-pack in October 2016. This version of Captain Phasma is a re-release of the basic boxed Captain Phasma figure. This time around Captain Phasma’s cape appears to be slightly wider, take a look at the comparison picture! The figure came with a blaster rifle which fits loosely into the right hand. Unfortunately, the blaster can’t be attached to Captain Phasma’s right thigh. The plastic cape is not removable and there is no head underneath the helmet. Disney painted the Captain Phasma’s armor quite well with a reflective silver color, but unfortunately it’s not quite as shiny as it should be. The figure was sculpted well with lots of details on the armor, wrinkles on the cape and an overall great likeness to the character. Phasma might be a bit too bulky when compared with other Elite Series Die Cast figures, but it’s a cool and tall figure which looks great on a shelf. We did not experience any balancing problems with Phasma, the ankle joints were nice and stiff and kept the figure from falling over. Kylo Ren was released at Disney Stores in a 5-pack in October 2016. This version of Kylo Ren is a slight repaint of the basic boxed Kylo Ren figure. This time around Kylo Ren’s mask doesn’t have scratches on the mouth piece and the figure is overall less dirty, take a look at both figures side by side (single boxed version left, the deluxe gift set figure on the right). The figure came with Kylo Ren’s cross-guard lightsaber. The lightsaber, which has a non-removable blade, fits well into Kylo Ren’s right hand. The left hand is molded with an open palm, as if Kylo Ren is reaching out with the Force very cool! The hood and the helmet are not removable. Kylo Ren is taller than a basic Disney Elite Series Die Cast figure. The mix of metal and plastic pieces works very nicely on Kylo Ren. To make Kylo Ren’s robe a soft plastic piece from the belt down was a great decision by Disney, this way the legs can be adjusted and the figure can be placed into more dynamic poses. The paint application is nicely done, the subtle dirt on the front and the back of the outfit adds a bit of realism to the figure. Even though the ankle joints were fairly loose we didn’t experience any major balancing issues with Kylo Ren. Finn FN-2187 was released at Disney Stores in a 5-pack in October 2016. Finn is a repaint of the basic boxed Finn FN-2187. This time around Finn’s armor was given a “Jakku sand” paint application and the helmet was repainted to include 3 bloody finger prints. The helmet fits nicely over Finn’s head and covers it entirely. The proportions are well done, the helmet doesn’t look overly big and Finn’s head doesn’t look too small when compared to the body. The figure is able to hold both weapons OK in the right hand. Unfortunately we weren’t able to attach the blaster rifle or the smaller blaster to Finn’s right thigh. The entire figure, including the head sculpt, turned out well. Disney included a display stand with Finn, but because the figure is fairly heavy, the stand doesn’t seem to give enough support to keep the figure standing very securely. This Flametrooper was released at Disney Stores in a 5-pack in October 2016. The Flametrooper is a re-release of the basic boxed Elite Series Flametrooper from 2015. The Flametrooper came with a display stand and a flamethrower. The flamethrower is molded into the Flametrooper’s right hand and can’t be taken off. The fuel tank is permanently attached to the back of the figure. The trooper was painted well with a high glossy finish on the armor nice! And the sculpt captures the likeness of the Flametroopers very well. All the small details on the flamethrower and the fuel tank look great. The included display stand works well, if the ankle and knee joints in the figure are stiff enough to support the weight of the figure (your mileage will vary).
