Here is a replica full size Stormtrooper helmet. It can be worn or displayed and has been made to accurately represent a stunt helmet from Episode 4- A New Hope. If you are aware of the screen worn stunt helmets, you can see that it has been accurately reproduced to show the cracked paint and paint runs present on the real ones. If you have never come across them before, you may be surprised to know that helmets in this condition were screen used in ANH and ESB. Apart from the’hero helmets’, the stunt helmets were made from khaki green plastic and quickly painted white. The paint then cracked and flaked through use. If you look closely in the film, you can see the helmets deteriorate showing the cracks and green plastic beneath. By the time the stormtroopers arrive at Bespin, you can see helmets on screen that resemble this one. This helmet for sale has been made to’look like’ those helmets which means that the paint isn’t as fragile and won’t deteriorate further. I assembled and painted the helmet myself. The original vacuum formed parts are very accurate and must have some linage to the original screen worn helmets. It has been assembled using the exact method as the originals using two rivets and six screws. The ears can even be removed (as shown in the photo) to show the green underneath. The chin strap is accurately made with 1 inch elastic and it even has a yellow piece of sponge cut to the star shape. All of the details have been hand painted using the same greys and blues and accurate brow and S shaped neck trim seal. It’s worth comparing this to the screen worn ones to see how accurately it has been reproduced.
